What Can You Do With Your Family or Community Group?

 

Parents

  • Have at least one meal together as a family each week.

  • Encourage your child’s school to conduct a walk-a-thon as an alternative to food related fundraisers.
     

Child Care

  • Try one new fruit or vegetable each week for a month.

  • Introduce one new physical activity each week for a month that will help develop gross motor skills.
     

Community and Faith Based Organizations:

  • Include at least one fruit or vegetable in every meal for a month.

  • Have a physical activity challenge among your own members or have your group challenge another group.
     

Everyone

  • Support National Turn Off The TV Day.

  • If you belong to a group that prepares community dinners,
    plan to offer at least one heart healthy side dish.

  • Help a neighbor.
